Emerging Sports to Debut on CBS Sports Network in March

Series to feature diverse array of top-tiered outdoor, winter, motor, and beach sports at iconic venues around the world

27 February 2017 (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)—Emerging Sports TV announces the launch of a new sports series on CBS Sports Network, with the pilot airing on March 16th, followed by the first full episode in a prime-time two hour block.  This series will feature a diverse assortment of championship events that include the top performers in each category, but will also emphasize the human interest story lines that viewers often find so engaging.  The events featured in the second hour, entitled “Climb Every Mountain,” will include the TransRockies Run from Buena Vista, Colorado to Beaver Creek, the Dion United States Snowshoe Championships from Ogden, Utah, as well as advice from cooking expert, Michelle Shea, and her Adventure Dining Guide.

“Clearly, sports and the active lifestyle space are changing dramatically, whether one considers the media space, event management, or even the incredible feats being accomplished by relatively unknown athletes,” explained John G. Duesler, Jr., Founder and Executive Producer of Emerging Sports TV.  “We are huge fans of sports in all its forms, but we believe that this show will usher in a new era of sports broadcasting that invites our viewers to, not only watch our shows, but to actually participate in the types of sports we cover.  We want our events and programming to be approachable, accessible, and, ultimately, achievable for our fans. ”

Emerging Sports TV will emphasize outdoor, winter, motor, and beach sports, but will also include plenty of surprises, like coverage from the National Police K9 trials, that show off the critical skills and athleticism of “man’s best friend.”  From some of the best kept secrets in sports, like the La Ruta Adventure Race in Costa Rica, to the iconic Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, this broadcast series aims to become a modern version of a sports variety show that combines both the competitive elements of sports, as well as incredible individual achievements.

Emerging Sports TV will run seven one-hour episodes in 2017, with the option for as many as nine hours in 2018.  For more information about this series, sponsorship opportunities, and an event listing for this CBS Sports Network broadcast series, Review Our Media Kit.
